Parents' Testimonials

« We really appreciate everything that the school has done in supporting [our child's] learning in both English and French, and we wish you every success in the future. »

June 2023

Grade 1 French-English program

« The end of this school year coincides with the end of our family's stay in Japan.

For [our child], it will be the end of a long, fruitful and unforgettable stay at EIFJ, which she will be leaving.

On her behalf, and on our behalf as parents, I'd like to say to everyone, thank you!

As she says goodbye to her friends, she hopes to keep in touch, if possible, with some of them, but above all that their paths will cross in the future. »

June 2023

Grade 2 French-English program

« My daughter comes from the Japanese school system and has been studying at this international French-Japanese school for 6 months. Classes are small and taught by certified teachers, which means that the teaching is of the highest quality in French, Japanese, and English. The school is growing rapidly. It organizes numerous activities, school outings, and family events, and is open practically all year round, even during school vacations, which is a great advantage for families with two working parents.

What's more, fees are lower than the competition, and Tokyo City Hall may even, under certain conditions, reimburse part of the school fees (the "mushouka", approx. 37,000 yen/month).

In short, I highly recommend this school to all parents looking to combine quality teaching with reasonable prices. »

February 2022

PreK2 in French-Japanese

« There were many experiences here that our child was able to promote friendships and learn about different cultures. That is a treasure for [our Grade 2 child]. I am sincerely glad that [our Grade 2 child's] first elementary school is EIFJ and have met you and wonderful teachers.
You are always having your door open. I empathize with your kind personality and passion for education.
I really appreciate it. »

« Let me say thanks for all the support your school provided for the last three years at EIFJ. We could see a lot of transformations and a growing project, [our child] always enjoyed the kind and nurturing care of staff members. They have been amazing with our daughter and we will always be appreciated for their dedication and support. »

March 2023

French-English PreK2 program

« The teachers are very kind and they are always ready to help you if you have any questions.

The school is large, so the management, administration, and homeroom teachers are all well coordinated, which gives me a sense of assurance that the school is in good hands. »

June 2022

« Great international school with French-Japanese, French-English and English courses, also offering post-class fun activities in many domains. Child happy goes to school and participates in music, sport and art activities. »

Prospective family

« My child seems to be enjoying her life at the preschool very much (every time I go to pick her up, she says "I don't want to leave! ), and I know it is thanks to the teachers and staff.
For this reason, we are very sorry to leave the preschool, but if we ever return to Tokyo again, we would like to be a part of your family again.
I would like to thank you for all the help you have given me over the past year since I was in nursery school. »

March 2023

PreK1 English program

« Very affordable school that provides both French and English curriculum. Very dedicated and professional Head Master and teachers. Kids are encouraged to take part in the school daily management and help the younger ones in exchange for small rewards. Great way of creating contributors and team players ! My two daughters (French) love going to EIFJ. »

October 2022

Grades 4 & 6, French-English program

« The school provides English program for my child who doesn’t speak Japanese nor French. It’s probably the most affordable international school that offers IB curriculum in Japan. My child loves all the teachers and staff here so I have no complaints. »

November 2022

Grade 3 English program

« Excellent international school, friendly, flexible, open till late and with holiday school. Large number and qualitative after school activities. Competitive and fair pricing. Small sized class for the better of our kid's education.»

June 2021

French-English Kindergarten

« My child is attending nursery school. I am very satisfied with the school as:

-  The price is very competitive as compared to other international schools

- Teachers take good care of my child. They have activities that help children socialize and grow. I trust the teachers of the school.

- We can see our child bringing words of French, English and Japanese home.

- School is taking initiative and organize events on seasonal themes (French and Japanese). Parents are involved in these activities. It gives good opportunity for parents to mingle and see our children play. Much appreciate that.

- School founder has passion and good vision in education for children. »

August 2022

« Very good school. The director goes out of his way to do the best and succeeds. »

« When we visited the school for the first time, we were very happy to hear from the manager and to see his positive personality. We hope that my kid will have a good time at your school. »

January 2023

Prospective family

« My daughter joined in 2019 summer and spent 8 months at that school, during that period she fantastically improved her English level around native English teachers. Staff is friendly, courteous and they care for the children very professionally.

Also, the tuition fee is much less than other international kindergartens in Tokyo. I highly recommend the school, if you are looking for a multi-language kindergarten. »

June 2020

English Kindergarten

« Having recently moved to Japan, I wanted to keep my children in the French school system. I then found this school, which offers more affordable prices than the French lycée for a quality service. The project is still in its infancy and is improving day by day thanks to the motivation of the people involved. »

PEDAGOGY

At Tokyo's French-Japanese International School, where the 2015 program of the French Ministry of Education, the 2018 recommendations, and an inquiry based approach are implemented, we believe in an active pedagogy that places the child at the heart of his learning. The role of the teacher is to connect the reality to the abstract by offering observation, questioning, manipulation and experimentation activities in real situations close to their environment to give immediate meaning to the learning.

French-Japanese, French-English or English-Japanese bilingualism is at the heart of the EIFJ project. It is about expressing, communicating, reading and writing in French, English or Japanese with the same ease, through real immersion.

EIFJ's five educational foundations:

1. Ensure the strength of fundamental learning

2. Develop autonomy

3. Bring students to bilingualism & trilingualism

4. Support curiosity, creativity and appetite for culture

5. Practice collaborative work

Teaching in same-grade groups in classrooms with an excellent teachers-students' ratio nurtures the fastest students while allowing everyone else to move forward normally.
